Overview

EnglishConnect has multiple levels to help learners progress. EnglishConnect 1 and 2 help learners develop basic English-language skills. EnglishConnect 3 helps learners develop intermediate English-language skills for employment, service, and educational opportunities—specifically BYU–Pathway Worldwide.

EnglishConnect is most effective when all levels are available to learners.

Requirements for Participation

Learners must be literate in their native language and be at least 11 years old to join EnglishConnect groups.

Below are English-language abilities learners need to start each level.

EnglishConnect 1: Read the alphabet and say basic words

EnglishConnect 2: Form basic sentences

EnglishConnect 3: Hold natural conversations; read and write basic sentences*

*Learners need to pass an English-language assessment to join EnglishConnect 3.
