摩爾門經中的先知李海做了一個夢,教導我們如何努力前進。他看到許多人沿著小路,走到一棵美麗的樹旁,樹上有美味的果子。這果子就是神的愛。他們沿著小路的旅程很艱難,因為有一片「黑霧」遮住了小路(尼腓一書8:23)。幸運的是,他們可以抓住一根「鐵桿」並留在小路上(尼腓一書8:24)。鐵桿就是神的話語,包括經文。以下是李海所說的有關他們的旅程:
「他們……一直緊握著鐵桿努力前進,直到前來,……並吃樹上的果子」(尼腓一書8:30)。
這些人之所以能走到樹前,是因為他們一直握著扶手,並一直向前走,信賴神。當黑暗來臨時,他們沒有分心或氣餒。你正在努力學習英文。有時你累了,不想學習。有時有其他的事情需要你的注意力和時間。然而,你已經找到了學習的方法。不要現在停下來。當你帶著對耶穌基督的希望努力前進時,你可以繼續獲得教育。
