慣用語是指將幾個單字放在一起時會產生不同意思的詞句。讓我們來看看「piece of cake」這個短語。如果我說「I want a piece of cake」，我的意思是，我想要甜點。但如果我說「Learning English with EnglishConnect is a piece of cake」，我的意思是，透過EnglishConnect學習英文很容易。慣用語“piece of cake”的含意是「容易」。
