Arise on Time

“Arise on Time,” Missionary Wellness: Sleep (2023)

Arise on Time

Not arising at the appropriate time can also negatively affect your sleep. Wake up at the time specified in the mission rules. Continually hitting snooze on your phone or alarm can disrupt your sleep rhythm and can actually make you sleepier and groggier for your morning studies.

Similarly, waking up too early deprives your body of the sleep you need and can be detrimental to your physical and mental health. If you are tempted to wake up earlier, trust the mission guidelines, and decide to wake up at the appropriate time.

Try This

Place your alarm further than arm’s reach away from your bed. This will require you to get up out of your bed to turn it off, which can help you overcome the habit of hitting snooze and staying in bed.

Try This

Set a goal with your companion to be in bed and out of bed at the times indicated in your mission rules. Make the necessary changes in your schedule and sleep environment to accomplish this. Give your body time to adapt. Improving sleep quality can take time. Be patient.

Seek professional help through your mission president if you are still having difficulty sleeping after trying the suggestions in this guide.
