Additional Resources

In addition to the General Handbook, please consider these additional resources to support you in your calling.

Instruction for Temple and Family History Leaders and Consultants. This link includes helpful information and instruction for temple and family history leaders and consultants.

Getting Started Steps.Four simple ways to get started and additional training resources.

Family Name Assist.Family Name Assist is a quick, automated guide for leaders and helpers. Designed for new and returning members and youth, Family Name Assist automatically creates a FamilySearch account and allows a member to simply add the name of the person they desire to serve in the baptistry and prints a temple name card.

Stake Temple and Family History Consultants.Stake temple and family history consultants serve under the direction of the stake presidency and the high councilor assigned to temple and family history work. They also help teach and support consultants in ward temple and family history callings.

FamilySearch Center and Center Coordinator. If resources are available, the stake may organize one or more FamilySearch centers. These centers help visitors discover, gather information about, and unite both living and deceased family members through temple ordinances. Anyone is welcome to use these centers.

Inspirational

Heavenly Father has sent His children to earth for more than six millennia. Most of these people have not yet received the ordinances that would qualify them for eternal life. That is why temples are so significant. That is why the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil is the most important cause on earth today. (Russell M. Nelson, “Choices for Eternity” [worldwide devotional for young adults, May 15, 2022], Gospel Library)
