Learn about the Melchizedek Priesthood
Through the Melchizedek Priesthood, all members of the Church are able to draw closer to God by receiving priesthood ordinances.
These ordinances allow you to make sacred covenants with God. While both men and women act under the power of the Melchizedek Priesthood in their Church service, worthy adult males are ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood and officiate in priesthood ordinances.

If you are an adult male, talk to the bishop or his executive secretary to set up an interview to prepare for and receive the Melchizedek Priesthood.

Melchizedek Priesthood holders can give blessings of comfort and can bless the sick. If you are ill or in need of comfort and want to receive a blessing, ask for a blessing from a Melchizedek Priesthood holder you feel close to.
