Overview

John the Revelator painted a vivid picture of the destruction and wickedness that would fill the world during the prophesied last days. In the final scenes of his great revelation, he saw “a new heaven and a new earth” and a holy city descending from heaven (see Revelation 21:1–2). He testified that God “will dwell with” the people of this city, “and they shall be his people” ( Revelation 21:3).
