Introduction
The Prison Ministry Guided Study program is an optional resource for leaders and members of the Church in their efforts to support adults in custody. It is a mail correspondence program that provides adults in custody with gospel-focused lessons as well as feedback and support as they learn.
This program may be funded and administered under the direction of the stake president, or it may be used by families in support of a loved one who is incarcerated.
Instructions
-
An adult in custody is made aware of the program and requests participation.
-
A lesson and response form are printed and mailed to the adult in custody in accordance with Church guidelines and prison or jail policy. A return envelope with printed postage may be provided.
-
The adult in custody studies the materials and completes the questions on the response form and then mails the response form back, keeping the lesson material for ongoing reference.
-
The responses are reviewed, and supportive feedback is provided.
-
The response form with feedback and the next lesson are mailed to the adult in custody.
