1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll—

Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,

The Apostle Paul spoke of the Savior “nailing [our sins] to his cross” (see Colossians 2:13–15) and offering forgiveness to all who repent.
