“Looking for Robins,” New Era, Mar. 1973, 51
Looking for Robins
Today is the day
To look for robins,
To start at the bottom of the hill
And slowly walk to the top,
Watching for first signs of spring
And still hearing the crunch of frozen snow
That will slowly melt
And pass into the ground
To give meaning and sustenance
To a coming spring day meant
To look for robins.
