Did You Know?

Did you know

that the very

first thing that turned green

last spring was the tip of

the willow branch, and then the

crinkled leaves of the violets

in the west garden turned green, along

with the straight, smooth leaves of the flag

plant, and spring was here and gone

before I knew it. And

did you know that you

were like that, too?

Here and gone.
