Grasping their own elusive thoughts and feelings with sighted fingers, they have crafted them into visible forms—portraits of themselves.

But if your name or photo does not appear on these pages, please don’t be discouraged. We saw a world of potential in your efforts. Please try again. Never stop trying to share your vision of life with a world that truly needs it.

And while we’re on the subject, be sure to watch the September New Era for the rules of our 1988 contest. Perhaps next August you’ll find your own face looking back at you.
