A Child of God
A child of God,
I know the song.
I know the words to tell the story.
But feeling it …
Living in a world of struggles,
not wanting to struggle,
I see myself
and turn away.
But mirrors can distort.
I tell the world to take the step
and God will show.
Time and tears and teetering …
I stepped today
and didn’t fall.
I asked,
He led,
We shared.
To you perhaps no miracle.
To me
—I have a Father.
