Called to Serve
Four members of the Second Quorum of the Seventy have been called to serve in the First Quorum of the Seventy.
Elder Carlos H. Amado, 47, has served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy since April 1, 1989, and is first counselor in the Central America Area Presidency.
Elder Ben B. Banks, 60, was sustained to the Second Quorum of the Seventy April 1, 1989, and is first counselor in the Philippines Micronesia Area Presidency.
Elder Spencer J. Condie, 51, has served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy since April 1, 1989, and is president of the Europe Mediterranean Area.
Elder Robert K. Dellenbach, 55, was sustained to the Second Quorum of the Seventy on March 31, 1990. He is second counselor in the Europe Area Presidency.

Fifteen new General Authorities have been called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy.
Elder Lino Alvarez, 47, has been serving as the director of the Church Educational System for Mexico. He and his wife, Argelia Villanueva Alvarez, have three children.
Elder Dallas N. Archibald, 53, is an international business executive residing in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He and his wife, Linda Ritchie Archibald, have one daughter.
Elder Merrill J. Bateman, 56, from Provo, Utah, is a management consultant. He and his wife, Marilyn Scholes Bateman, are the parents of seven children.
Elder C. Max Caldwell, 58, from Springville, Utah, is a professor of religion at BYU. He and his wife, Bonnie Adamson Caldwell, are the parents of five children.
Elder Gary J. Coleman, 50, from Pleasant View, Utah, is the associate director of the institute of religion at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He and his wife, Judith Renee England Coleman, have six children.
Elder John B. Dickson, 48, from Arlington, Washington, works in the lumber business. He and his wife, Delores Anne Jones Dickson, have eight children.
Elder John E. Fowler, 47, from Sandy, Utah, is a certified public accountant. He and his wife, Marie Spilsbury Fowler, have six children.
Elder Jay E. Jensen, 50, from Orem, Utah, works in the Church Curriculum Department. He and his wife, Lona Lee Child Jensen, have six children.
Elder Augusto A. Lim, 58, from Manila, Philippines, is an attorney. He and his wife, Myrna Garcia Lim, have eight children.
Elder John M. Madsen, 52, from Sandy, Utah, is on the faculty of BYU. He and his wife, Diane Dursteler Madsen, are the parents of six children.
Elder V. Dallas Merrell, 56, from Murray, Utah, is a management and research consultant. He and his wife, Karen Dixon Merrell, are the parents of nine children.
Elder David Sorensen, 59, from Las Vegas, Nevada, is a cattle rancher and businessman. He and his wife, Verla Anderson Sorensen, have seven children.
Elder F. David Stanley, 56, from Salt Lake City, has worked in construction and design. He and his wife, Annette Shewell Stanley, have eight children.
Elder Kwok Yuen Tai, 50, originally from Hong Kong, residing in Fullerton, California, has an import-export business and is in real estate development. He and his wife, Lai Wai Wah Tai, have three children.
Elder Lowell D. Wood, 59, is director for temporal affairs in Manila, Philippines. He and his wife, Lorna Cox Wood, have five children.
