“Winter’s Dream,” New Era, Jan. 1999, 51
Winter’s Dream
I awakened on winter’s eve
And what did I see—
Diamonds! Emeralds!
Sparkling on each tree.
The hazy moon shone
On the glittering sight,
And I could imagine a fairy
Flitting through the night.
When coming upon
This vale of untouched snow,
She decided to add
Her own crystal touch and glow.
So above the bushes
She danced and spun,
Showering cascades of jewels
On each one.
Then seeing her work
Was lovely and complete,
She twirled away, and
I went back to sleep.
