Summer Testimony Shape-up

School’s out! So is seminary. Time to kick back and relax. But remember, just as your muscles get weak when you don’t use them, so does your testimony. Try these fun ideas to keep your testimony growing strong all through the summer.

  • Read the scriptures in the mountains, at the beach, or anywhere surrounded by nature.

  • Befriend a new or less-active member and help them build their testimony.

  • Read a scripture story that inspires you; then use that inspiration to write a poem or song or to create a sculpture or picture.

  • Strengthen your testimony through service. Choose a summer service project that makes you stretch.

  • Choose uplifting summer entertainment. Read a classic novel, attend an outdoor symphony, or go to a museum or sidewalk art show (see the 13th article of faith [A of F 1:13]).

  • Share your testimony in sacrament meeting or with a family member, friend, or leader.

  • Read a biography of a latter-day prophet.

  • Share your favorite seminary or Sunday School lesson with your family for family home evening.

  • Pull out your New Era magazines and catch up on all those articles you wanted to read but never got around to.

  • Share the Book of Mormon with a friend.

  • Willingly help your parents and other family members with a project, such as family history work or an Eagle or Laurel project.
