“Young Men of Zion,” New Era, May 2004, 10–11

In Tune:

Young Men of Zion

Commissioned for the 175th anniversary of the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood, May 15, 2004

1. Young men of Zion, all who bear

The priesthood Aaron bore,

Who watch and teach, expound, exhort

As ancients did before.

Remember John the Baptist,

Who conferred this pow’r of old;

Let us prepare the way of Christ

As he did, strong and bold.

[Chorus]

O be strong in the Lord,

In the power of his might,

Then come, put on his armor

And stand up for the right.

For we bear his priesthood

And he gives our call;

With faith in his power,

We give the Lord our all!

2. Young men of Zion, let us do

Our duty to our God

And magnify our callings as

We walk where Christ has trod;

Administ’ring the sacrament

And minist’ring with love,

We baptize to unlock the gate

That leads to heaven above.

3. Young men of Zion, let us live

That we may soon obtain

The priesthood of Melchizedek

And temple blessings gain.

We’ll go and teach the nations all,

Endowed with heav’nly pow’r,

And lead our fam’lies unto Christ

As watchmen on the tow’r!
