What’s in It for You

Mutual Activity Ideas

  • Read the article, “Ward of Wisdom,” on page 12. Suggest organizing a similar event in your ward or branch. You can expand the group that you select to interview to include those of all ages. Make a list of good advice gleaned from your interviews.

  • Review the Idea List on page 33. Plan an activity to learn or practice some of the skills suggested on the list. You could even make some of the skills into a competition, such as seeing who can pack the most things in a suitcase or who can properly tie a tie the fastest.

Personal Progress or Duty to God

Family Home Evening Ideas

  • After reading together the article, “Internet Café,” on page 34, have a family discussion about using the computer and create a list of family rules. The rules could include restrictions on the amount of time spent on the computer, what types of games will be allowed, what to do about unwanted e-mail, or how to avoid unacceptable Web sites.

  • Have a music appreciation night. Using the poster on page 19 as a starting place for a discussion, try playing different kinds of music as a way of expanding the musical tastes of your family.
