I Celebrate

I celebrate the child

who overcomes circumstance

who overcomes hurt and fear

 and learns forgiveness

I celebrate the child

who rises above the world

and looks beyond the pain and terror

 and sees that goodness and beauty do exist

I celebrate the child

who searches for truth and light

and rejoices in its discovery

 embracing pure knowledge and understanding

I celebrate the child

who makes mistakes and stumbles

but learns humility

 and can continue on steadfast

I celebrate the child
