Tā fakatātā ʻa Josh Talbot

Naʻá ku faʻa ngaahi maʻu pē ha sanuisi siisi ifo moʻoni. ʻI he vahaʻa ʻo e meʻa tokoni ifo ko iá mo ha ngaahi meʻatokoni kehe pē, naʻá ku feinga mālohi ke u moʻui mo longomoʻui lolotonga ʻeku ngāue fakafaifekaú kae pehē ki he hoko atu ʻeku moʻuí. Ka naʻá ku mali mo maʻu ha fānau, pea naʻe kehe kotoa mo ʻenau ngaahi fie maʻú. Naʻe fie maʻu leva ke toe lahi ange meʻa te u kukí.

Ka, ʻi he ngaahi efiafi ne totonu ke u kuki aí, naʻe faingataʻa ʻeku feinga ke kuki ha meʻatokoni foʻou. Ki ha taha ne toki kamakamata pē, naʻe faʻa siʻisiʻi hoku taimi he efiafí. Neongo naʻá ku loto ke kuki ha ngaahi meʻatokoni kehekehe, ka naʻe faingataʻa pē. Naʻe ʻikai vave feʻunga ʻeku kumi e ngaahi meʻa ke fai ʻaki e kukí, pē ne ʻikai maʻu ha konga ia ʻo e ngaahi meʻá. Ne lahi e ngaahi taimi ne u tuku ai ʻeku kukí kae fai e meʻa ne vave mo faingofuá.

Peá ne hokohoko atu pē ʻeku loto ke fakatupulaki e tafaʻaki ko iá. Naʻá ku pehē leva ke u fai ha meʻa naʻe teʻeki ai ke u fai. Naʻá ku lotua ha meʻafoaki fakalaumālie ʻaki hono hingoá.

Meʻafoaki ʻe Taha, mo Lahi Hono ʻAongá

Naʻá ku lotua pau ʻa e meʻafoaki ʻo e fokotuʻutuʻu leleí. ʻIo, ʻa e fokotuʻutuʻu leleí! Ne ʻosi ʻi ai ha kōpate ʻo e ngaahi meʻa fakaifo meʻatokoní. Ne ʻi ai foki mo ha toloa ʻo e ngaahi meʻa ngaahi meʻakaí. Kae neongo e ʻosi maau e ngaahi meʻa ko iá, hangē ne kei lahi ange pē hoku taimi ki hono fakasio e ngaahi meʻa ko iá ʻi heʻeku kukí.

ʻI heʻeku lotua taʻetūkua e meʻafoaki ko ʻení, naʻe kamata keu maʻu ha ngaahi fakakaukau pau. Ne ʻi ai ha kiʻi lau papa ne fakamaʻu ki he holisi naʻe tuku ai e ngaahi meʻa fakaifo meʻakaí pea naʻe tokoni lahi ia kiate au. Ne ʻi ai mo ha lau papa makanito ne fakamaʻu mo ia ki he holisí ʻo tuku ai e ʻū helé mo e ngaahi meʻa ngaahi kai kehé. Ko ia mo ha ngaahi fakakaukau kehe, ne nau fai ha liliu lahi ki heʻeku kukí ʻi he taimi naʻá ku fakaʻaongaʻi ai iá. Fie maʻu ha lauʻi ʻakau (thyme)? Māsima kāliki? Efuefu kāliki? ʻE vave ʻaupito ʻeku fakasioʻi atu iá!

Ka naʻe hoko ha meʻa fakaoli. Ne u toutou maʻu ha fanga kiʻi fakakaukau ki ha ngaahi founga iiki teu lava ai ke fokotuʻutuʻu fakalelei e ngaahi tafaʻaki ʻo ʻeku moʻuí. Hangē ko ʻení, he ʻikai lava heʻeku taua fō fungavaka tolú ʻo ʻave hoku fāmilí ki he fonua ʻo e talaʻofá, kae mahalo e hounga kia Nīfai ʻa e founga naʻá ku langa ai iá—ʻo fakafou ʻi he ngaahi ongo ne u maʻu kongokongá.

Kuo hanga ʻe he meʻafoaki ʻo e fokotuʻutuʻu leleí ʻo fakatupulaki ʻeku moʻuí pea mo e moʻui ʻo hoku fāmilí ʻo laka hake ia ʻi ha meʻa naʻá ku mei feinga ke fai.

Pea naʻe hoko kotoa ia koeʻuhí naʻá ku kole ia.

Lahi e Ngaahi Meʻafoakí, Tokosiʻi ʻa e Kau Kolé

Mahalo ʻe faingataʻa ke mahino kiate koe ʻa e fakakaukau ʻe lava ke hoko e holí ko ha meʻa ʻoku sai, ka ʻi he tuʻunga ko ʻení ʻe ala pehē ia. ʻOku fakahinohinoʻi kitautolu ke tau vakai ki ha niʻihi ʻo e ngaahi meʻafoaki fakalaumālie ʻoku tau sio ai ʻi he niʻihi kehé pea ke tau kole ki he ʻOtuá ke tāpuakiʻi kitautolu ʻaki ʻa e meʻafoaki tatau. ʻOku tau fakatetuʻa atu ʻi heʻetau fai iá ʻe toe lelei ange ʻetau tokoni ki he niʻihi kehé mo langa e puleʻanga ʻo e ʻOtuá (vakai, T&F 46:26–29).

ʻOku lahi ha ngaahi meʻafoaki—ʻo lahi hake ʻi he ngaahi meʻafoaki te ke maʻu ʻi he folofolá. Ko e faʻa kātakí ko ha meʻafoaki fakalaumālie ia. Tatau pē mo e loto hanga-mālié. Mo e loto toʻá. Mo ʻete hoko ko ha tokotaha fakamelinó. Naʻe ako ʻa ʻEletā Leli R. Lōleni ʻo e Kau Fitungofulú: “ʻOku ou fakakaukauloto ʻi ha ngaahi taimi ʻe niʻihi ki ha fuʻu fale tauhiʻanga koloa ʻi hēvani, ʻoku fonu ʻi ha ngaahi meʻafoaki fakalaumālie, ʻoku ʻatā ki he Kau Māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē ʻoku nau maʻu ʻa e tui ke kole kinautolú. Ka ko e meʻa pangó, ʻoku ʻikai tokolahi e kau kolé, pea ʻoku fonu maʻu pē ʻa e fale tauhiʻanga koloá ia.”1

… Naʻe ʻikai ngata pē ʻi heʻeku ʻofa ʻi he kakai ne nau ʻākilotoa aú ka naʻá ku fiefia mo kinautolu. Kimuʻá, mahalo ne u feinga ke ʻoua naʻá ku fuʻu ofi kiate kinautolu, ka ʻoku ou mahuʻingaʻia moʻoni ʻi he tokotaha kotoa pē he taimí ni.’”2

Kuo Maau mo Tatali Mai Hoʻo Ngaahi Meʻafoakí

ʻOku mahulu hake ʻa e mahuʻinga ʻo e meʻafoaki fakalaumālié ʻi he ngaahi meʻa fakatuʻasinó! Ko hono moʻoní, ko e ngaahi meʻafoaki lelei tahá ia. ʻOku fekauʻi kitautolu ʻe he folofolá, “Kumi fakamātoato ki he ngaahi meʻafoaki lelei tahá” (T&F 46:8).

Neongo pē ko e hā e meʻa ʻokú ke ʻamanaki atu ke fakaava ʻi he pongipongi Kilisimasí, feinga ke ke fakakaukauloto ʻoku tatali mai foki mo e ngaahi “meʻafoaki lelei tahá.” Kuo ʻosi “kofukofu” ia mo maau ke ne tāpuakiʻi koe mo e niʻihi ʻoku mou feohí.

Ko ia ai, kole leva.
