Each year, the Young Men and Young Women General Presidencies meet to discuss something important: what will be the best theme to unite youth all over the world?
They pray for the guidance of the Holy Ghost and search for a scripture that will be a guiding light. They try to pick one that comes from that year’s Come, Follow Me reading.
For example, we’ll be studying the Book of Mormon next year, and the 2024 theme comes from 3 Ne. 5:13: “Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.”
Once the presidencies find a scripture and choose a theme, they send it to the First Presidency. Did you know the prophet helps decide the right theme for you?
