Here’s how to do them correctly.
Exercise is an important part of caring for our bodies. Here’s how to do push-ups like a pro!
- Lie facedown on the floor, legs straight. Place your hands by either side of your shoulders.
- Push your body up to rest on your hands and toes, with your elbows bent. Keep your back straight.
- Slowly raise yourself until your arms are straight, and then lower yourself until your arms are bent to a 90-degree angle.
- Repeat! If you need to, start with push-ups resting your weight on your knees (instead of your toes).
Tip: What many people get wrong with push-ups is their form—they stick their bottom in the air instead of keeping their back straight.
As is true with most exercising, push-ups get easier with practice as your muscles get stronger!
Note: This is part of a series about basic exercises that don’t require fancy gym equipment.
