You don’t have to do it alone!

Here’s the latest message from a Church leader to YOU!

“I can’t do this.”

When I first sat in my office in the Relief Society Building in Salt Lake City, I felt lots of feelings.

Big feelings.

Like, I’m having a hard time breathing type of feelings.

The women who occupied this space before me—Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Sister Michelle D. Craig, and Sister Becky Craven—gave us so much. So much that for a long time I felt, “I can’t do this. I can’t follow in their footsteps.”

Now that I’ve had this calling for almost nine months, I’ve realized something.

I can’t do this.
I really can’t.
Not by myself.
I need help. I need Him.

Something that changed my view was to literally change the view in my office.

I’m blessed to have two portraits of Christ by the talented J. Kirk Richards beside me at all times.

When I begin to feel overwhelmed, like I can’t do the work before me, they remind me of whose work I am about.

I can’t do this work by myself, but I don’t have to, because He’s always beside me.

My witness and my testimony is that He is beside you too.

Heaven is near.

So place an image of Christ somewhere you’ll see it every day so YOU can feel He is near!

Your friend,

Sister Tamara W. Runia
First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency
