God has performed many miracles for His people.

And that list is still growing!

In the face of persecution, Paul encouraged the Jews who had converted to Christianity to remember all the great things God had done for their ancestors. The stories about Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others inspired people 2,000 years ago just as they inspire us today. (See Hebrews 11.)

In fact, in the 20 centuries that have passed since Paul wrote those words, God has done even more wonderful and amazing things!

Imagine you wanted to give a pep talk to a member of the Church who was feeling discouraged. You might mention some of the same miracles Paul cited. What else could you add that Paul didn’t? Some ideas:

  • The translation and printing of the Bible, which made it available to everyday people.
  • The plates written by Nephi, Mormon, and Moroni being preserved for hundreds of years.
  • The Restoration of the gospel: Joseph Smith’s First Vision, translating the Book of Mormon, and so forth.
  • The growth of the Church membership in different countries around the world—each with its own pioneer story!

What miracles from your own life or family history would you include? We know how God blessed Moses and Noah... do we also know how He has blessed us?

My List of Miracles

The Bible Diction defines miracles as “manifestations of divine or spiritual power.” When have you seen God’s power in your life?
