When we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost at baptism, it means He can be our constant companion. But learning to invite, recognize, and follow Him is a lifelong process. So if you’re still learning to listen, don’t stress! That’s normal. Here are things you can do to feel His influence more in your life:
- Study how the Holy Ghost spoke to people in the scriptures.
- Ask Church friends how they invite the Holy Ghost to be their companion.
- Spend time thinking about how you have been guided and comforted by the Spirit in the past.
- Pray to feel the Spirit more often.
- Take the sacrament with real intent to keep your covenants and receive the Spirit.
Strengthening relationships of any kind takes time. Be patient with yourself as you strengthen your relationship with this important member of the Godhead. Over time, you will get to know Him better.
