Did you know that the topics for general conference talks are usually not assigned? Speakers pray for guidance on what the Lord wants them to talk about.
There are so many subjects to choose from. And yet not one but two talks at the most recent conference were on one very specific thing: patriarchal blessings!
Which means both speakers felt prompted by the Holy Ghost to address this subject. So it’s probably important! Here are their talks:

Your patriarchal blessing is personal revelation. It’s a message from Heavenly Father just for you. What a great gift!
If receiving guidance from God is going to be especially important “in coming days” (which President Nelson said five years ago!), then it’s no wonder the Lord’s servants are emphasizing patriarchal blessings as a unique way to receive personal heavenly direction.1
If you haven’t received your patriarchal blessing yet, talk to your bishop or branch president about getting it. And if you have received your blessing, this would be a great time to read it again. What does the Lord invite you to do? What does He warn you about? What blessings does He promise?
