Pavilion Attracts Crowds

Elder Mark E. Petersen of the Council of the Twelve recently presided at the dedication of the Mormon Pavilion at the Expo ’74 world’s fair in Spokane, Washington. The pavilion already has proved a major attraction at the fair, which features exhibits from many nations and industries. Supported on piers rising from the Spokane River, the Mormon Pavilion is fronted by a column on which stands a statue of the angel Moroni. Inside are displays and motion pictures depicting life in early America as represented by Book of Mormon history.

The fair, expected to attract close to five million visitors, opened in early May and will remain open until November 3.
