Winners of the 1981 Ensign Writing Contest are:

Article division: First prize ($150), Mitchell Lee Edwards of Littleton, Colorado, for “Via Boito” (page 38); second prize ($100), Anne Castleton-Busath of Rochester, New York, for “The Best Christmas Ever”; third prize ($75), Eva Lue Hassell of Bluewater, New Mexico, for “My Lord May Have Need of Me.”

Short story division: First prize ($150), Tom Williams of Vernal, Utah, for “Flowers on the Wall” (page 46); second prize ($100), Dennis Drake of Sacramento, California, for “For Sons and Other Minor Signs”; third prize ($75), Dianne Dibb Forbis of Rexburg, Idaho, for “The Painter / the Painting.”

Poetry division: First prize ($75), Scott Ellis Ferrin of Phoenix, Arizona, for “In Laie”; second prize ($50), Breck England of Bountiful, Utah, for “To Louis Bertrand, Missionary to France, 1852”; third prize ($40), Ann Best of Orem, Utah, for “A Tour of Israel: Climbing Mt. Song division: First prize ($150), Janice Kapp Perry of Provo, Utah, for “Love Is Spoken Here” (page 50); second prize ($100), Dan Carter of Provo, Utah, for “Psalm: My Heart Seeks to Beautify”; third prize, Rebecca Parkinson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Sherri Otteson Bird of Provo, Utah, for “All That I Love Is Home.”

Hymn division: First prize ($150), Dan Carter of Provo, Utah, for “Let Not Our Souls Forget” (page 49); second prize ($100), Mariellus Scowcroft Snow of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Charlene Scowcroft Snow of Salt Lake City, Utah, for “Receive, O Lord, the Sacrifice”; honorable mention, Dyanne S. Winners of the Relief Society’s 1981 Eliza R. Snow Poetry Contest for Women are:
