New BYU Conference on Home and Family
The Brigham Young University Department of Conferences and Workshops has announced plans for a conference on home and family to be held May 13–15. This is the first conference of its kind to be held at BYU.
Format for the conference will be concurrent classes running most hours during the three days. Lectures and workshops will be diverse, drawing on many areas of expertise from within and outside the university community.
General subjects will include courtship and engagement; dealing with the needs of preschool and grade school children; the middle family years; and retirement. In addition, workshops will be conducted across the entire spectrum of home and family life—from techniques of efficient housecleaning to tuning the family car to international cooking to home computers.
An optional Friday evening (May 14) family social, complete with spaghetti supper, family games for all ages, and a movie has been planned.
Individual admission is $10.00; a couple will pay $15.00; the family rate (three or more) is $18.00; and single-day attendance is $6.00. Preregistration is encouraged.
