Egg Characters
You will need: eggs, pin, steel or wooden knitting needle, toothpick, yarn, feathers, felt, wire, felt-tip pens, and glue; shellac and paintbrush are optional.
Make a pinhole in each end of a raw egg and poke contents with toothpick to break yolk. Blow through one end to empty, then set aside contents for scrambling. Rinse shell with water, drain, and let dry. Following the illustrations, see what kind of egg characters you can make. To curl yarn hair, wrap yarn around knitting needle and place in oven at 175° for 10–15 minutes. Let cool before removing yarn from needle. The duck’s glasses are shaped from wire. Eggs can be protected with a coat of shellac if desired.
