Harvest Home Evening
I think the thing that I like best
When fall has come to let plants rest
Is sitting by the fire with Dad
And Mom and Jane and Baby Brad.
Dad tells about each thing we grew—
The corn and peas and pumpkins too!
Because God sent the rain and sun,
There’s food enough for everyone.
Tonight when I kneel down to pray
And thank the Lord for work and play,
I’ll thank Him, too, for rain and sun,
For autumn crops—for all He’s done.
