I Went Home

A few months ago, I was at my neighbor’s house. We were having a lot of fun playing. Later in the day, he asked me if I wanted to watch a movie, and I said yes. As my friend got the movie ready to watch, I saw what it was rated and knew that it was one I should not watch. I offered a silent prayer to Heavenly Father about what I should do. I said to my friend, “I think I need to go home now.” As I walked home, I thought about what I had done. I had obeyed my parents and Heavenly Father. I knew that Heavenly Father had answered my prayer and helped me make a good choice.

Sharing a Part of Ourselves

My sister and I had long hair. Brushing out the tangles every morning took too long, so we decided to have our hair cut. My mom had heard of girls who cut their hair and gave it to a group that makes hairpieces and wigs for children who have lost their hair because of illness. We had to cut off at least 10″ (25 cm) of our hair, but, with Mom’s permission, we decided to do it. We were happy to help someone else by sharing a part of ourselves.

A Temple Marriage

My sister and I have always wanted to be flower girls in a wedding, so when our cousin Tiffany asked us to be part of her upcoming wedding, we were thrilled. Mom sewed us special dresses, and finally the day arrived. We drove to the beautiful San Diego California Temple. When Tiffany and her new husband, Chris, came out of the temple looking so happy, we were overjoyed to be able to share in this heavenly day. We know that Jesus wants each of us to marry in one of His temples so that we can begin our eternal families in the right way. We are thankful that our cousin set the proper example for us by being worthy to enter the House of the Lord.

A Brazilian Greeting

President James E. Faust came to our area conference last August. My mom helped organize and serve a special lunch for the priesthood leaders, and I got to meet President Faust. Before he left, he asked if he could give me a Brazilian greeting. I said yes, and he gave me three kisses on my cheeks!
