Special Witness:

Guess Who?

The members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are prophets, seers, and revelators and stand as special witnesses of Jesus Christ. They have the responsibility to testify of Him to the whole world.

Can you guess who this is? Read the clues about this member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Then find the answer below.

  1. He had an interest in science from the time he was young. His parents encouraged him to explore how things worked, and he and his brothers even fixed the family car.

  2. When he was a teenager, he had some “adventurous” jobs: he worked on an oyster boat, cut down trees in Utah for the forest service, and repaired railroad cars.

  3. He liked to spend time at his uncle’s farm in Virginia, hiking in the woods, fishing in streams, having barbecues, and swinging on a rope swing.

  4. He is seventh in seniority in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

  5. His interests range from science to music. While attending George Washington University, he studied mechanical engineering, and played clarinet and saxophone in a jazz band.

  6. On a top-secret military job, he worked on the first nuclear-powered submarine, the Nautilus.

  7. “He’s my best friend,” said his wife, Jeanene, who passed away in 1995. They have five living children and two who died early in their marriage.

  8. He was born in Idaho on November 7. He grew up in Washington, D.C.
