The Living Christ

The prophets and apostles wrote “The Living Christ” to tell the world about Jesus Christ. Read part of it each month and memorize the line in italics.

“Of Him the Prophet also declared: ‘And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father …’ (Doctrine and Covenants 76:22–24).”

Only Begotten of the Father: Jesus had an earthly mother named Mary. But He is the only person who didn’t have an earthly father like we do. His father was Heavenly Father. Joseph was like Jesus’s stepfather.

A Prophet’s Testimony

1. One day the Prophet Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon were reading the Bible. When they read John 5:29, they wondered what it will be like when people are resurrected.

2. Suddenly they saw a glorious vision of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father surrounded by angels.

3. Joseph Smith wrote about what they saw so everyone can know that Jesus Christ lives! His testimony is included in “The Living Christ.”
