Hello from the USA!
Laksmi lived in Hawaii and now lives in Utah. Here are some facts about those two states.
The United States of America is a country mainly in North America. Around 300 million people live there.
National Parks
The USA has 63 national parks. Arches National Park is in the deserts of Utah and has 2,000 sandstone arches. Haleakalā National Park is in Hawaii and has a volcano.
Pioneers from Around the World
The USA has families from all over the world. In the 1800s, most of the Latter-day Saint pioneers who traveled to Utah were from other countries.
Two Beautiful Temples
The Salt Lake Temple was the first temple the pioneers started to build in Utah. It took 40 years to finish!
The Laie Hawaii Temple was the first temple built outside of Utah after the Saints moved west.
A Fabulous Fruit
About 10 percent of the world’s pineapples grow in Hawaii. Pineapples represent welcoming and hospitality.
A Friendly State
Hawaii is called the Aloha State. That’s because aloha means “hello.” Hawaiians are known for being friendly.
