Nativity Costumes
You can perform a play to tell the story of Jesus’s birth. Here are some costumes you can make. Use the script on page 26 for your play.
Sheep Mask
Make some sheep to go with your shepherds!
-
Cut a circle the size of your face in a paper plate. (Tip: Fold the plate a little to start cutting in the middle.)
-
Cut the circle in half. Tape the pieces onto the plate to make ears.
-
Glue cotton balls around the paper plate. (You could also use popcorn or marshmallows instead!)
-
Optional: Glue a craft stick to the bottom of the plate to use as a handle.
Wise Man Crown
Make crowns for the Wise Men.
-
Paint or color the front and back of a paper plate. Let the paint dry. Then fold the plate in half.
-
Use scissors to cut the middle of the plate into four sections. (Don’t cut all the way to the edge!)
-
Unfold the paper plate. Push the points up to make it look like a crown. Then decorate it how you want!
Star Headband
Wear this on your head to act as the star that led the Wise Men to Jesus.
-
Cut out the center of a paper plate so you just have the rim.
-
Draw a star shape on a piece of heavy paper.
-
Cut out the star and glue it onto the rim so it stands up.
Donkey Ears
Make these ears for the donkey that carried Mary into Bethlehem.
-
Cut out a long strip of paper. Tape the ends together to make a ring the size of your head.
-
Cut out two donkey-ear shapes from a piece of paper.
-
Paint or color the ears gray or brown with a pink oval in the middle.
-
Tape the ears on the inside of the paper ring.
