I live in Canada (plot twist: we don’t actually live in igloos or ride our moose to school). Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here has brought me so much joy. But there are also days with sadness and opposition. I grew up in a place where I had no close relatives, but Heavenly Father gave me my ward family and helped me build eternal friendships with the youth in my stake. No matter where you are, you have family when you have the gospel.

I was in the lowest of lows when my patriarchal blessing appointment was approaching. The adversary made me think that I did not deserve to get my blessing. Then I heard the stillest, small voice prompting me to call the sister missionaries. When the sisters came, I felt the Savior’s love for me so strongly and clearly.

Although we cannot be close to our Savior physically, it is so important for us to always be drawing nearer to Him. My patriarchal blessing strengthens me and reminds me that I am a divine daughter of God.
