Amputees Receive Hope with New Prosthetics Equipment in St. Lucia
In a labor of love and enthusiasm, Jim DeWees, has been donating his time and talents to set up a prosthetics workshop at the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) in St. Lucia. The workshop will provide prosthetic limbs to amputees.
The workshop is made possible with donations from Latter-day Saint Charities in partnership with the NCPD. Jim, who also wears a lower limb prosthetic, is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has been working for two years to obtain the necessary equipment to have an operational prosthetic workshop.
“This is charity, the pure love of Christ, in its most relevant form for these grateful recipients,” said Sister Nish. Elder and Sister Nish are humanitarian missionaries who work with Latter-day Saint Charities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
