How does the restored gospel bless us?

(December 28–January 3)

In Doctrine and Covenants 1, the Lord declared, “These commandments are of me, and were given unto my servants” (verse 24). He explains how this collection of revelations, commandments, and teachings would bless the Church and its early members. His words still apply today.

Blessings for Members

Those who seek wisdom might be instructed (see verse 26).
Those that sin “might be chastened, that they might repent” (verse 27).
The humble will be made strong, blessed from on high, and receive knowledge (see verse 28).

Blessings for the Church

Faith will increase in the earth (see verse 21).
The Lord’s everlasting covenant will be established (see verse 22).
The fulness of the gospel will be proclaimed by the weak and simple (see verse 23).
Power to lay the foundation of the Church and to bring it out of obscurity and darkness (see verse 30).
