What Can God’s Plan Teach Us about Him?

As Jacob teaches his people about the plan of salvation, he rejoices in what God has made possible for us, especially overcoming physical and spiritual death. Jacob’s praises and teachings can help us recognize some of God’s divine attributes. When we recognize how God uses these attributes to bless our lives, we can develop a closer, more worshipful relationship with Him.

Divine Attributes

As you study 2 Nephi 9, consider looking for the godly attributes Jacob praises.

How can each of the following bring us happiness?

Wisdom (verse 8)
Mercy (verses 8, 19, 53)
Grace (verses 8, 53)
Goodness (verse 10)
Greatness (verses 17, 40)
Justice (verse 17)
Holiness (verse 20)
Righteousness (verse 41)

Follow Jacob’s pattern and fill in the blank with attributes you have seen God demonstrate: “O how great the ________ of our God.”

Note how those attributes relate to what God has done. What great things has He done because of who He is?
