To Mom and Dad
Somewhere
between the lines,
“Mom, have you finished my dress yet?”
or,
“Will you help me with my dishes? I’m late,”
there comes a silently spoken
message of words so hard to say.
But,
I think you understand.
Hidden
in the words,
“Can I have the car keys?”
and,
“Will you fix this for me, please?”
Dad,
I call the same message out to you.
I know you understand.
Mom,
Dad,
Thanks.
I love you.
