“The Seed,” New Era, Feb. 1995, 51
The Seed
I planted a seed.
I knew it would grow.
I’d been told of its
potential by those
who had tried
the experiment.
They said if I
would care for
and nurture my plant,
it would become a solemn tree.
It has long since blossomed
and borne fruit.
With winter here,
my tree stands barren,
but I have stored
for time of need
a perfect knowledge.
