“When can I start dating one-on-one instead of always going in groups?” New Era, Feb. 2015, 41
When can I start dating one-on-one instead of always going in groups?
As a Latter-day Saint youth, you’re counseled to go in groups of two or more couples when you start dating (see For the Strength of Youth [2011], 4). This helps keep things safer and more fun rather than forming serious relationships too early in life. When it comes to dating one-on-one, Church leaders haven’t specified an age when it’s appropriate to start. At the latest, when you’re in your 20s and in a position to consider marriage, you most certainly should be single dating. Until then, talk to your parents and priesthood leaders about this question.
