Scripture Connection: Can Ye Feel So Now?

How do you record sacred experiences?

Remembering them helps your soul sing!

Scripture of the Day: “And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?” (Alma 5:26)

In this verse, Alma is speaking to Church members—people who (presumably) have had spiritually meaningful experiences. He wants them to remember that conversion isn’t a one-time thing.

The feelings you had when you felt the Spirit, no matter how powerful, will fade over time. How can you make sure you remember those sacred experiences so that you can keep singing “the song of redeeming love”?

The answer is easy: keep a record! Here are some ideas:

  • Write about your experiences in a journal.
  • Record yourself talking about them.
  • Use art or music to describe your feelings.
  • Engrave them on metal plates. And make sure to send us a picture. ;)
  • Use the Thoughts tab on the Gospel Living app to create a digital journal. (Don’t worry, it’s private!)

Whatever works for you, find a way to make a permanent record. When you revisit these records years from now, you will love rediscovering this goodness!
