Five exercises to keep them stable and strong.

Some scriptures mention knees—mostly that we should be strengthening them. (See Isaiah 35:3, for example.) And while they’re mostly talking about spiritual strength, we are blessed by paying attention to our physical health as well!

So let’s talk about knees. They are an important part of your body! They’re a complicated joint made up of bone, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage that allow our legs to bend and move. We can strengthen the muscles around our knees to help keep them stable and strong.

Try this knee-strengthening workout!

Farewell to Feeble Knees

Warm up: Walk 5–10 minutes

Workout:

  1. 10 wide sumo squats
  2. 10 reverse lunges each side
  3. 10 seated leg raises each side
  4. 10 narrow squats
  5. 10 side-lying leg lifts each side

Repeat 1–3 times. If you don’t know how to do one of these exercises, there are lots of free videos online that can show you how to do them correctly. Remember to take it slow if exercising is new to you.

Cool down: Walk 10–20 minutes

Turn Up the Tunes

Here’s an exercising pro tip: get your favorite music involved! Create an album with some songs that will boost your mood and help you meet the challenges of exercising.
