Scripture Connection: Be Positive

We don’t need to fear death.

It is just another transition.

Scripture of the Day: “And it came to pass that there were many who died, firmly believing that their souls were redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ; thus they went out of the world rejoicing.” —Alma 46:39

Many people are scared of death because they don’t know what comes next. Others are scared of death because they do have an idea of what comes next, and don’t want to face God.

But for people who are trying to follow the example of Christ, death shouldn’t be super scary. Not that we look forward to it! But it doesn’t need to frighten us.

The prophet Alma taught that when faithful people pass away, their spirits “are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow” (Alma 40:12).

Death is just a transition, like birth—passing through a veil from one side to the other.

Now this doesn’t mean that we can’t be sad when good people die. We miss them! But we can find comfort in knowing that they are in a peaceful place.

It's OK to Grieve

Has anyone close to you died? If so, it’s totally okay if you’re still sad about it. Practice acknowledging those feelings, breathing deeply, and letting emotions come and go.
