The law of Moses had been fulfilled.

Here’s what 3 Nephi 12 might’ve been like.

The law of Moses was fulfilled when Jesus Christ completed His Atonement.

That meant the daily rituals, animal sacrifices, and practices weren’t required anymore. But what were the followers of Christ supposed to do instead?

That’s one of the things the Savior talked about when He visited the Americas after His Resurrection.

He taught the “higher law” of the gospel, which says we show love for God by loving and serving one another and obeying His commandments. Instead of performing animal sacrifices, we are asked to give God our broken heart and contrite spirit!

To Think About

How do you think living this “higher law” might be easier than obeying a list of specific daily commandments? How might it be harder?
