“The Seattle Temple,” Ensign, July 1977, 94 The Seattle Temple The Seattle Temple will become more than an architect’s rendering in approximately two years as bids are received and construction begins later this summer. The temple, originally announced by President Spencer W. Kimball in November 1975, will be located in Bellevue, Washington, on the eastern shore of Lake Washington across from Seattle. It will serve some 180,000 members of the Church in Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho, British Columbia, and Alaska. A full-colorprint of the architect’s rendering will be featured in the August Ensign as part of the current series on Latter-day Saint temples.
