The Title of Liberty
Captain Moroni was a great leader. He followed God. He helped the Nephites protect their families.
Moroni tore off a piece of his coat to make a flag. He wrote words on it to help the people remember their freedom, religion, and peace. Moroni invited them to make a promise to protect their families. He hung the flag from every tower.
They called the flag the title of liberty. The title of liberty inspired the Nephites to stand up for what was right. (See Alma 46:11–20.)
