I’ve noticed at my school that some people frequently seek recognition for everything they do. But I want to have the mindset to do something simply because it’s right rather than getting recognition for it. I know it’s important to choose the right and keep the commandments. In my own life, I’m really glad I stuck to my standards, because it’s really benefited me in the long run.

There’s only one other member of the Church at my school. I try to be an example to my friends because I represent the Church. I want them to know that the gospel makes me a happy person.

I hear swear words at my school all the time. Even some of my teachers swear. But I choose to live all the standards of the Church even if they are hard to keep. Other standards like the Word of Wisdom or dressing modestly are easier for me to keep. I know following the Word of Wisdom will keep me safe. I’ve also developed my style so I can always find something to wear that is both modest and stylish. I don’t have to sacrifice my style to live my standards.

Sometimes you may face obstacles that try to stop you from accomplishing something good, but you can choose to be happy. I’ve had trials. But I try to have a positive outlook through those times. The gospel helps me do that.

I love to work out. I did gymnastics my whole life. But I had to stop because I had several injuries. It was difficult for me to stop because I went from exercising many hours a week to zero hours a week. I couldn’t exercise the way I used to, so I decided to try running. I love to run through the city. Running also helps to reduce my stress.

It’s not always easy to be a member of the Church, but you’re not alone. Do everything you can to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude!
